Privacy Policy

GetDiogenes (getdiogenes.com, also called “Diogenes”) is operated by Sharif-Ali Asadullayev, an individual based in Baku, Azerbaijan (“GetDiogenes”, “Diogenes”, “we”, “us”). If you have any question about this policy or your data, reach us at support@getdiogenes.com.

Application content. The resumes, CVs, cover letters, job descriptions, interview answers, and job postings you paste or upload so Diogenes can review them. If you upload a PDF or image, that file counts as application content. Job postings you paste into the Job Checker are included here too.

Things you save in your account. Resumes and job posts you save to your library (with the names you give them), applications you track in the Ledger (including the job posting text and Job Check result attached to them), and the results of your resume checks. They stay private to your account until you delete them.

Your history. For each Job Check and practice interview, we keep a short summary so it appears in your dashboard History: the verdict or score, a one-line summary, and a few signals. We don't keep the posting text, your resume, or your interview answers there.

Voice answers. If you answer the Hot Seat out loud, your recording is sent for transcription and then discarded. Diogenes does not store your recordings. The transcript is used to score that interview.

Job searches. The role and location you search for, and the resume you choose to rank the results against.

Optional questions. If you answer our short, skippable questions (for example, where you are in your search or how you heard about us), we store your answers.

Community submissions. If you submit a challenge to the community area, we collect what you enter — the scenario, the persona description, any resume context, and the handle you choose to be credited under.

Contact details. When you create an account, the email address (and name, if you give it) you provide.

Basic technical data. Standard information your browser sends — device type, browser, and the pages you visit — used to keep Diogenes running and spot problems. We keep this minimal.

Payment information. When you buy credits, your payment is handled entirely by our payment provider, Dodo Payments. Dodo collects your card details directly and securely — Diogenes never sees or stores your full card number. We only receive confirmation that a purchase succeeded.

We use what you give us to:

— Generate your feedback, score, and mock-interview responses.

— Operate, secure, and improve Diogenes.

— Keep your saved items, Ledger, and History available to you.

— Remember job postings that get checked, so we can tell you when others have checked the same posting and how long it's been circulating. We keep the company, job title, location, the verdict, and a fingerprint of the posting's text, but never the text itself and never who checked it. If you move an application in your Ledger to Interview, Offer, Rejected or Ghosted, we add that outcome to the posting's record the same way, so we can learn which postings actually hire. None of this is linked to your account or sold; selling anything still requires the opt-in below.

— Decide what to build next, using the optional questions you choose to answer.

— Produce anonymous statistics, only if you switch that on (see below).

— Reply to you, if you've contacted us or asked to be kept in the loop.

— Show your community challenge publicly, if you submit one and we approve it. Once approved, the challenge and the handle you chose become visible to other users — so don't put private personal details in a submission.

That's the whole list. We don't repurpose your application content for anything else.

To produce your feedback, Diogenes sends your application content to our AI provider, Anthropic (the makers of Claude). This is the honest part most tools hide, so here it is straight:

— Anthropic processes your content under its commercial API terms, which means it does not use your content to train its AI models.

— It retains content only briefly, to monitor for misuse and meet legal obligations — not to build a profile of you.

One extra step for the Job Checker. When you ask Diogenes to check a job posting, Diogenes may run web searches to look up public information about the role and company — for example, typical salary ranges and company reviews. To do that, short search queries derived from the posting (such as the job title and company name) are sent to a web-search provider, and Diogenes reads back publicly available results from third-party sites. We use this only to produce your verdict; we don't build a profile of you from it, and we don't send your resume or personal details to those searches.

The Hot Seat's voice. The interviewer's voice is AI-generated, and your spoken answers are transcribed, using ElevenLabs. We send ElevenLabs the interviewer's questions and your recording, and nothing else about you. ElevenLabs processes them under its own terms: elevenlabs.io/privacy.

Job search. To find listings, we send only the role and location you typed to our job-listings provider, Adzuna. Your resume is never sent to Adzuna. To rank the results, the listings and your chosen resume are sent to Anthropic, under the same terms described above. Opening a listing takes you to Adzuna or the employer's site, which have their own privacy policies.

— We never sell or rent your personal data. Not to recruiters, not to advertisers, not to data brokers.

— We never train our own or anyone's AI on your resume or application content.

— We never embed hidden trackers or pixels in your documents, and we don’t surveil anyone on your behalf.

About two weeks after you check a job (paid check) or add it to your Ledger, we may email you once from no-reply@getdiogenes.com to ask whether you heard back, and, if you did, a week later how the interview went. The email shows the role and company you saved, to you only, and each button is a one-tap link that updates your Ledger without a login. We send at most one such email per day, only to confirmed email addresses, and never share your answers with anyone: the only thing recorded elsewhere is an anonymous count (for example “heard back”) with no name, email or posting. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can turn the reminders off any time in Settings. We send them through Resend, our email provider.

If you switch on “Add my data to anonymized trends” in Settings, Diogenes counts a few facts about your activity in aggregate statistics: whether postings you checked were flagged as likely ghost jobs, how the applications you track turned out (for example, ghosted), and the field you told us you work in. It never includes the text of postings, your resume, or your answers.

These statistics never identify you. We only report patterns across large groups: a figure is used only when at least 20 results are behind it, so no single person can be singled out.

We may share or sell these aggregate insights to employers as part of our Corporate Trends product. To be clear about where the line sits: we sell the patterns, never the people. Your individual resume, name, and applications are never part of what we sell.

Your data is included in these aggregates only with your consent, and you can opt out at any time from your privacy settings, or by emailing us.

Content you paste but don't save is used to produce your result and isn't kept, except for the result itself: resume check results and the short History summaries described above. Uploaded files are discarded after they're processed, and voice recordings are never stored by Diogenes.

Things you choose to save (resumes and job posts, Ledger entries, your History) are kept until you delete them or delete your account.

Contact details are kept for as long as you have an account. Delete your account, or ask us, and they're gone.

When you delete your data, we delete it — we don't keep shadow copies.

Cookies we set: only the sign-in cookies from our login provider, Supabase, which keep you logged in. They're strictly necessary: without them, your account can't work. They're removed when you sign out.

Stored in your browser, not cookies: your light/dark theme choice, and small conveniences like remembering a tab. These never leave your device.

Analytics: we count visits with Vercel Web Analytics, which doesn't use cookies and doesn't identify you personally. It tells us things like which page you came to and roughly which country.

Country, for our own research: when you use Diogenes we keep the two-letter country code your connection appears to come from (for example “US”), together with coarse facts like whether a job check came back ghost or scam and the industry of the job. We use it to see which countries and job sectors Diogenes helps most. We never store your IP address for this, and we never store the job posting text, the company name, or your resume alongside it. For signed-in users we also remember the country code on your account once, so we can compare survey answers by country. We publish only combined totals from this (the Ghost Job Index), and only for groups of at least 50 checks, never individual checks.

What we don't use: advertising pixels, cross-site tracking, or third-party ad cookies. Because we only use strictly necessary cookies, there's no cookie banner. If we ever add advertising or tracking tools, we'll ask for your consent first.

You can ask us to:

— Show you what data we hold about you.

— Correct it, or delete it.

— Send you a copy in a portable format.

— Stop using it for a particular purpose.

Delete everything yourself, anytime: Settings → Delete account removes your account and everything saved in it. For anything else, email support@getdiogenes.com and we'll handle it. If you're in the EU/UK (GDPR) or California (CCPA), these rights are guaranteed to you by law — and we honour them for everyone anyway.

We protect your data with industry-standard measures and send it over encrypted connections. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep the amount of data we hold small precisely to limit the risk.

GetDiogenes is operated from Azerbaijan. These providers process data on our behalf, only for the purpose listed:

— Supabase: account sign-in and our database (everything you save).

— Vercel: hosts the website, and counts visits (see Cookies).

— Anthropic: the AI that reads postings and resumes and runs interviews.

— ElevenLabs: turns spoken interview answers into text, when you use voice.

— Adzuna: job listings for Find jobs.

— Dodo Payments: processes payments and handles your card details.

— Google: only if you choose “Sign in with Google.”

Your data may be processed outside your home country, including the United States and the United Kingdom. Wherever it's processed, this policy and its protections still apply.

Diogenes isn't intended for anyone under 16. We don't knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has used Diogenes, contact us and we'll remove their data.

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top, and for significant changes we'll make a clear announcement. Continuing to use Diogenes after a change means you accept the updated policy.
